I didn't expect her to be gone long since she forgot the keys to our new car. I sat down at the kitchen table, saddened, thinking about what we had fought about. I guess I dozed off a bit. When I woke, I was still at the kitchen table. I got up, drying the bit of drool at the corner of my mouth, and looked around the house, calling for my wife.
