Céad míle fáilte!  A hundred thousand welcomes seems a fit welcome to the week kicked off by Saint Patrick's Day.  The four-leaf clover has been associated with luck.  Today, write a little Flashy Fiction that involves a four-leaf clover or luck...or both.  Maybe your story will take place in Ireland or a field of clover.

Cause for Contrast

One may choose to be inspired and write from these image directly, (or not), but what I suggest is that in your piece that you create a distinct contrast within the imagery or emotional feeling within the writing. Explore opposites of any given concept, (such as happy and sad as an example).

With the recent release of "OZ: The Great and Powerful" the vision of L. Frank Baum gets a refreshing and more high-tech treatment. We know the tale of Dorothy Gale and her dog landing in an incredible place of fantasy. 

Your mission is to get caught up in the middle of the twister and land in the "Mysterious Land of (INSERT YOUR PLACE OF BIRTH HERE)". What three characters (related to your home) do you encounter and write a brief scene to depict your imaginings.

There's no place like home.

Base your fiction today on the home.  Perhaps it is just being home or comin home from from a trip.  In any case, there is no place like home.

Hell on Wheels

Hey, how'd the Balrog get Barbie's Mini Cooper?  It's a Lord of the Rings vs. Barbie mash-up.  Write a little Flashy Fiction involving a crossing of genres or well-known stories, something like the werewolf account executive or garden gnome traveling salesman... maybe Jack Sparrow in a Delorean with a Flux Capacitor.  Mix it up.  Write a couple of them.  Have fun with it.

Where Are You Going?
