  1. Intriguing. I'm a bit short on time just now, but if I can find some I'll have a go.

  2. Not sure the direction of the traveler.... is he going courageously deeper into the tunnel or is he joyfully coming out?

It could be there are seasons when life forces us inside... where it seems very dark and we aren't sure when light will shine.

And there are seasons of life when hope is revealed. First, with a little speck of light and as our pace quickens, the light grows bigger and bigger. We are then almost running as the light almost blinds us. We come tumbling out, on our backs, so grateful for the sun.

Maybe we shouldn't fear the tunnels of our lives. If we cling to the hope that light is ALWAYS at the end, the tunnels can be pathways to the better.

And who doesn't want the better?

  5. INTO THE LIGHT

“Man’s sole purpose in life is to give birth to himself.”

He’ll never forget that sensation of floating. A serene and tranquil journey, it was the culmination of months of planning. The darkness was something he had become accustomed to. But he knew his days were numbered.

The signs were obvious. There were major upheavals happening, disturbances that rattled his very being. Never far from his main connection; his direction was rather obvious. The phrase “Up and out” popped into his head for some reason. It just seemed right.

The sounds around him were being magnified, loud rambunctious rumblings, somewhat terrifying, somewhat soothing. And it felt like the earth was moving. He rode the wave until the next one washed over him. This intensified the floating feeling.

He felt as if he were being pushed, spirited toward the end of a long tunnel. He suspected something was not right. He detected a bright light. For the first time in his journey, he felt afraid and unsure.

His movements became more rushed; the urgency of the motion became all that mattered. He was bathed now in that light. It hurt his eyes, the people that scurried around the room scare him. They stuck a sucky thing into his nose and that was the last straw. He started to wail.

“NO, PUT ME BACK…, I WANT TO STAY IN THERE!” But all they heard was his insistent cry. Baby Boy Milliken was welcomed into the world. And all he wanted to do, was float.
