True Blue

Don’t hate me, but as you’re reading this, I am on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, my Happy Place. There is no blue like this blue. But there are so many shades of blue in the world. Today, write something that includes your favorite shade of blue. Or write about feeling blue. Or write about what’s true, for you. Or write about lapping waves and toes in sand…ahhhhh…gotta go. My kayak is calling. Happy blue inking, and be sure to leave me some azure love.

  3. Landscapes, oh those landscapes, curved, flat, or at best a little of both. The trees are tall, give shade, and they will always fight to remain standing. Then there are the waves. Their rising swell brings in life, but also their changing rhythms remind us that they might grow bigger, dangerous, they might even destroy. The coastline is scattered with wind-shaped bushes, stones, sandy spots with their dreams of kisses on a summer day. Only this is December, a windy December day on Sejer Island, and there’s no hot sun to fear or cherish. The seven hills here form a sheltering barrier to the sea, and now they are bare and huge in their winter coats. There are no signs in the stars or in the moon to tell us the days are growing longer so we rely on our knowledge of such things that they are.

    1. Andrea, this is gorgeous. I especially love:
"wind-shaped" (for aren't we always shaped by change?
"no hot sun to fear or cherish"
      and especially this:
"and now they are bare and huge in their winter coats."

Just beautiful. Thank you so much for the great write. :)

  4. De, thank you. I'd write anything for you - only this is the opening for one of my stories, Solemente Para Tus Ojos which is published by Salt Publishing. But you had me thinking of it and hopefully it's okay with Salt that I put it here. Again, thank you.
