I could do this. Just don’t focus on the body – his skin cold and waxy. His hair was matted over his cheek hiding the bullet hole that took off half his face.
I stared down at the powdery chalk line clinging to the asphalt. My ears were assaulted by the squeal of tires just as if it were happening all over again. Honking horns, screaming voices, a crunching noise,and then...silence.
Funny, the outline of my feet was way out of proportion to my head.
