Friday Funkday

The end.

  1. “You’re in a goofy mood today,” Seth said.

“Ya think?” Pammie kicked at a pebble with her Chucks.

“Uh huh. You really want to try this? I’m a good foot taller than you, you know, not to mention, I outweigh you by god-knows-how-much. But I can be a sport too, okay? So, let’s see what a peanut like you can do, Pammie.” Seth stood stock still, with his arm pointing straight up in the air.

Pammie squatted down and grabbed Seth somewhere between the knees and thighs.

    “Oooooh, baby!” he whispered.

“Just shut up and stay still for a minute, will you? Okay? This isn’t – you know...” Pammie tried to look mad at Seth, but it wasn’t working, and he knew it.

    “Yes, ma’am.” Seth saluted Pammie.

    “Seeeeth!”

    “All right!”

With all her might she pushed and braced - and finally managed to lift Seth off the ground. It was just a few inches though, and only for only a couple of seconds. They both fell to the ground laughing.

“I did it! See!” Pammie gasped between the giggles.

    “Only because I helped.”

“Liar!” said Pammie. She sat up, still giggling, and pretend-punched Seth in the arm.

“Ow!” Seth mock-rubbed his arm, and then brushed a loose grass blade from Pammie’s nose. “And anyway, now it’s my turn.” Seth stood up and took hold of Pammie’s hand, pulling her to a standing position. “Ready?”

    “Go ahead.”

With very little effort, Seth picked up Pammie and held her so that her face was near his.

“You’re such a dork!” she said.

    He kissed her.

  4. Ooops - 3rd paragraph - s/b 'with his arms pointing straight up in the air.'

And Deb - thanks for saying that. I was hoping you'd get one (tingly!) idea about the story - and then realize it was just about a couple being playful. =D

  5. Totally got it Lightverse! You nailed the scene so well that I was transported back in time to my own YA days (back in the Stone Age!) and remembered what that kind of goofing around can lead to! hahaha
