AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW...

What awaits at the end of your personal rainbow?
A leprechaun with a pot of gold?
A fortunate event?
A magic land of short green things?
What would you like to find?
End your search in a bit of fiction about it!

  2. -Sigh- I know that I should probably not complain about life, but sometimes having your imaginary Tobias (read: amazing chracter in Divergent!) just isn't enough. Sometimes at the end of the rainbow you wish to see your perfect other.
Life is full of your everyday twists and turns. Like being straooed into your own personal rollar coaser of Karma. Sometimes you need someone to ride it with. Hold your hand when you're scared. Share Happiness with and bounce ideas off of yours. Sometimes you just need just that: Your other.
People say to me all the time that there is a person for everyone out there. But, I never really feel that way. There must be SOMEONE out there, but AI will never meet them. I feel that I urk in the shadows, never to be seen. To just keep to myself. If I do something wrong, there goes my chances. That is why my rainbow carries my riches of having a hand to hold.

    2. Keep writing, Abi! And on blog posts, we ALL make mistakes...so don't sweat it. Just keep writing!

And do not give up on the idea that there's someone for everyone...I haven't given up, yet, so neither should you, at your young age. ;)

    3. Thanks! I was sort of in a rush and I was EXHAUSTED! I just came back from sleep-away camp and needed to write on here first thing!

  3. You're 12? That's awesome Abi! It takes a lot of courage to share your writing in a public space like this. We all make mistakes, no matter our age. This is how we grow from fledging writers to good writers to great writers. So keep writer, and be fearless!

    2. You're welcome Abi. When I was your age, I remember wanting so much for something, anything--and after a long time, I figured out I was looking for...me. Take your time, and take in where you are, read a lot, and keep writing.

    3. Haha! Reading is not a problem! I am writing a book, but 9 pages so far. I am WAY into the YA dystopia. That is why I love Veronica!

  4. Abi, J.B. is right. We all make our mistakes. All mistakes are lessons from which we learn. You have great skill that just need to develop in their own time. Don't be in a hurry or rush the process.

I understand your anxious moments. I was thirteen when I began writing lyrics for music I had written; love songs for the girl of my dreams. I didn't meet her until I was nineteen. It was worth the wait. Everything is meant to happen in its right time. Be a talented 12 year old writer and learn, grow and develop into the person you were meant to be. I'm glad that you like my writing. Hopefully I can be a positive influence from which you can draw inspiration.

  5. Thanks! I sometimes try to throw bits and pieces of myself into my characters, and real experiences that I have gone through and I have them go and face it. Here, ex:

So I am in line, buying lunch like I do every other day, reading a part of a book that I suggest everyone read, and once I have been let through, like they check you to see if you have an ice cream shoved in your pocket, I sit down open up to page 315 and start reading and do not dare close it, because I know it will kill me if I do. One of my friends, Layla, she says, “ May as well sit alone if you even conciser reading 24/7, never mind reading at lunch. By the way, what is making you read that book when you have already finished it?” I reply simply as ever, “ The main character is going to find out why they call him a simple nickname!!!!” “OMG it doesn't appeal to me!!!” she replies with only a dash of sarcasm in that voice that makes you want to faint and go to heaven. She sounds like an angel.

That was when I was reading Veronica!!
